All it takes is you, a safe place to sleep outside, and your commitment to helping youth off the streets and into a positive environment.
To Sleep Out on November 16, simply choose who you plan to Sleep Out with:
Sign up to Sleep Out so homeless youth don’t have to. Sleep Out solo or with a friend or two or more (you can always form an official group later!).
With Your Family, Friends, or Neighbors
Teach your children about kids their age who may find themselves in a difficult situation, but who might not be that different from them.
With Your Community Group
(your place of worship, school, or other local group)
There’s strength in numbers. Bring your community together to help homeless kids… and to protect and safeguard all children in need.
With your company or a group of co-workers
Unite as a company or a group of co-workers to show your philanthropic values and make a lasting impact for children in crisis.
As an individual or as a group, once you sign on to join the Sleep Out Movement, you’ll be provided with everything you need to make your Sleep Out impactful. As this is primarily a fundraising event to support the life-saving services of Covenant House, we’ll ask you to raise at least $50 per person to be a part of Sleep Out America. We’ll make that easy for you by providing:
- A personal Sleep Out America dashboard to help you raise funds and to invite friends and family to join you.
- A step by step tool kit to guide you through your Sleep Out from the moment you sign up through November 16 – the night America Sleeps Out.
On November 16, the first-ever Sleep Out America, participants will join a nationwide movement. Elements of the night-of experience will be shared across the country, and participants can choose to wrap their Sleep Out with as much or as little programming as they choose. A toolkit with event ideas will be available to everyone, along with access to a live online event that connects them to thousands of others sleeping out across the nation. Our live streams will also connect to Covenant House and show participants first-hand how their actions will help homeless youth who are not only receiving services and shelter, but also love and respect. Participants can tune in online to kick off their Sleep Out experience and then head outside to sleep out in solidarity with those who’ve had no choice. Additional details will be provided to all participants in advance of November 16th.
