How It Works
Sleep Out America makes it easy to be a part of the solution for youth facing homelessness.
You’re joining a community of thousands of people from around the country, but there isn’t one place where everyone will Sleep Out. This is a DIY fundraiser, so you can do it wherever (and however) you want!
Once you register you’ll be provided with everything you need to fundraise and spread the word about your Sleep Out. Get started today with these three easy steps:
Step 1: Register
Officially join the Sleep Out America community by registering for this year’s Sleep Out on November 22, 2019. You can register by yourself or get your friends and family involved and register as part of a team. The more people on your team, the more money you’ll raise for youth in need.
Sign up to Sleep Out so homeless youth don’t have to. Your efforts to raise funds and awareness will help Covenant House provide care for kids and teens in need.Register Now

Step 2: Fundraise
When you register, you’ll set a fundraising goal and kick things off with a $35 required donation. After that, it’s up to you to reach (and surpass) your goal. Never fundraised before? Don’t worry, you’ll have full access to fundraising tools, personalized coaching, and your very own fundraising page to help you along.
Plus, fundraising rewards can be earned along the way to celebrate your progress!
All that hard-raised money goes directly to Covenant House. Want to learn more? Read about our impact.
Step 3: Sleep Out
Finally, the “Sleep Out” part of Sleep Out America!
Find a safe, legal place where you can Sleep Out – individually or with a group – on the night of November 22, 2019. It can be anywhere! Your backyard, your neighbor’s deck, or the park, church, or school of your choosing are all perfect options.
We’ll provide activity ideas and exclusive videos to help make your Sleep Out experience more meaningful, but you’re in charge! Make it your own and make it memorable. Bring snacks, play music, or build a campfire. There’s no reason helping people can’t be fun!
